I live in a 1950's council house. The house is very retro, so I am doing the retro thing throughout the house...much to my teenage son's disaproval. I spends alot of time in local charity shops & on ebay. I have learned a valuble lesson this week. I got a bit click happy and bid on a retro quilt, I only paid £1 thinking I could cut it up & use the fabric. When it arrived I was surprised at the size of the parcel. I was thinking it was a duvet cover....but no it is a really retro quilt the sort that crackles & flashes with static in the dark. It brought back childhood memories of our orange poorly blanket. It is a bit faded more so than the picture on ebay, it is a lovely pattern though.

My living room

My creative gene?

My 13 year old son struggles to keep his bedroom tidy!! So recently I was shocked & impressed by his creative initiative. I was thinking his blue bedroom was needing some colour but he beat me to it.

I have just covered an old set of pine bedside draws with fablon to help him keep tidy. Other than bursting into his bedroom at 6am with the dyson there aren't any other tactics I have found very succesful. Teenagers!!!!

My goodness today my Mac has decided it will upload photos????? Oooooh I have loads to show you. A very good friend who is also very creative gave me some packets of dylon, amongst lots of other goodies for my birthday. So I bought a load of cheap tea towels from ikea & died them all pink along with my old ones, in my washing machine. Watching the washing machine go round was better than the telly that night. The table cloth they are sat on is one I picked up from a charity shop for 50p that I am going to cut up & make into tea towels.
